Clyde Frazier thought Enes Kanter only got him a $50 Gucci gift card for Christmas (Video)

Walt “Clyde” Frazier thought that former New York Knicks big man Enes Kanter shorted him on a Christmas gift.

New York Knicks fans are finding games much more enjoyable to watch now that the team has vastly improved under new head coach Tom Thibodeau. But, as has been the case for many years, they love listening Walt “Clyde” Frazier call the contests while also sharing stories on the air. On Saturday, he decided to share a tale about Portland Trail Blazers big man Enes Kanter.

During the second quarter between the Knicks and Blazers, Frazier recalled the time where he received a Gucci gift card from Kanter for Christmas when he was still in New York. When Frazier opened the gift card, he hilariously thought that Kanter had only given him a $50 gift certificate. But after showing his girlfriend, Frazier found out that it was actually for $500!

A hilarious misunderstanding

Frazier wasn’t lying in his assessment about the supposed $50 gift card. Is there anything you could possibly buy at Gucci for that amount? Probably not. Regardless of the misunderstanding, Frazier was extremely appreciative of Kanter’s gift.

Kanter joined the Knicks back in 2017 in a trade that sent Carmelo Anthony to the Oklahoma City Thunder. The center spent a little less than two seasons with the club, as he was waived back in 2019. In that span, Kanter averaged 14.0 points and 10.8 rebounds per game while shooting 57 percent from the field.

On Saturday, Kanter and the Blazers could not get the better of his former team, as the young Knicks defeated them 110-99. In over 33 minutes of playing time, Kanter scored 13 points, grabbed 11 rebounds and recorded 4 blocks, all while shooting 6-for-10 on the day.

Knicks fans were treated greatly. They watched the team move into sixth place in the Eastern Conference standings and listened to the great “Clyde” Frazier recall a funny Kanter story.
